A young person lost their life in Falls Church, Virginia. Police say alcohol was involved.
CLICK HERE FOR THE TRAGIC STORY.
At about 5 a.m. in the 2600 block of Pioneer Lane in Fairfax, a vehicle spun out and hit a tree. Teens were in the car. One died from their injuries according to subsequent REPORTS. Others had life threatening injuries. Some, it's reported, weren't wearing seat belts.
This case is going to get priority prosecution. Fairfax has been tightening up on DUIs as of late. We wouldn't be surprised it the prosecution hired expert witnesses for trial to reconstruct the scene. If the driver was a juvenile, the case will begin in the Fairfax J&DR Court. If not resolved there, the case will end up in Fairfax Circuit Court.
We've written about underage drinking and driving before HERE. Virginia has a zero tolerance policy on underaged drinking.
We hate to say it, but the young person involved has a serious DUI case to deal with, but there will be civil lawsuits to follow.
Anyone facing an underaged DUI charge in Virginia or someone who was injured in one should get legal counsel right away.
