Prince William County General District Court: An Overview
Prince William County General District Court, or as lawyers call it Prince William GDC, is where most criminal and civil cases in Prince William are handled. The vast majority of cases, such as DUIs, criminal misdemeanors, and some felonies also start here before they go to Prince William Circuit Court. Prince William GDC also handles landlord tenant cases and certain civil claims.

Location and Setting
Prince William GDC is in Manassas at 9311 Lee Ave, Manassas, VA 20110. It's about a 30 minute drive from our Alexandria office. The Prince William Adult Detention Center is attached to it. There's no food options there other than a couple of vending machines.
Parking is not too bad at Prince William GDC. If you have a criminal or civil case at Prince William GDC, plan to arrive at 15 minutes early. There are two parking lots right across the street from Prince William GDC, and pretty much no street parking unless you get lucky. The first parking lot fills up around 9am. There's always parking in the second lot. The second lot is actually closer to the court, so save yourself a little time and just park there. Parking is free at Prince William GDC the lots, so you don't have to worry about that.
Types of Cases and Scope
The Prince William County General District Court handles an array of cases, ranging from traffic violations to civil disputes. DUIs and traffic cases are handled on the 2nd Floor at Prince William GDC. Traffic and DUI dockets are very busy, however, so plan to spend 2 hours at Prince William GDC if you have a case to be heard unless you have an attorney who can speed things up for you.

Prince William GDC allows cell phones or electronics in the Courtroom.
Other Courts at Prince William GDC
Prince William GDC is in the same building as the Prince William Juvenile and Domestic Relations Court as well as the Prince William Circuit Court. Prince William GDC courts are usually on the second floor. There are electronic screens for you to find your case right next to the elevator and stair well.
