Look, we get it. Nobody wants to get arrested. Especially if you're a MPD police officer.
ACCORDING TO THIS ARTICLE, an off duty Washington DC Metropolitan Police Department officer was eluding his Virginia law enforcement counterparts on the 395, reaching speeds over 100 mph and resulting in a crash.
We're guessing that was in Arlington or Alexandria.
In Virginia, this is called eluding. Eluding can be charged as a felony under VA Code §46.2-817. Eluding often comes up in DUI and drug possession cases. Sometimes people flee police; other times cops are putting screws to people because they didn't pull over "fast enough."
