According to this REPORT, the superintendents of the public school divisions in Fairfax and Loudoun counties said that members of their respective communities were among those killed after an American Airlines flight and an Army Black Hawk helicopter crashed over the Potomac River Wednesday night.
Superintendent of Loudoun County, Dr. Aaron Spence, provided people in Public Schools with some of the resources available to them, noting that a loss as significant as what many may experience “can bring a wave of emotions.”
Among those on board the plane were several figure skaters, coaches, and family members. U.S. Figure Skating said they were returning home after attending the National Development Camp held in conjunction with the U.S. Figure Skating Championship in Kansas.
