A Takoma Park Police Department (TPPD) captain was seriously hurt after being hit by an impaired driver on Monday night, officials said.

According to this REPORT, there, they learned that a captain from Takoma Park Police was driving his police cruiser in the area when he was hit by an impaired driver. He was taken to a hospital with serious injuries.

The person who hit him – a woman – was taken to a hospital with minor injuries. MCPD said she faces DUI and other traffic-related charges.
