The law presumes everyone to be innocent of their charges unless their guilt has been proven beyond a reasonable doubt.
That doesn't mean, however, that people don't get pissed off when accidents cause traffic.
According to this REPORT, a 23 car pile up on the Bay Bridge has resulted in DUI charges for a Maryland woman. Eleven people we hospitalized, and a twelfth person taken to the hospital had life-threatening injuries, the Maryland Transit Authority reported.
We hope everyone's on the mend.
Apparently law enforcement conducted a months-long investigation into the crash. That's strange. Typically DUIs arise where officers make spot decisions about intoxication on the scene.
While we don't practice in Maryland (DC and Virginia only) we will be watching this DUI case.
